I attended your session at the Web2.0 expo. Thanks for sharing some of flickr’s stats. I am trying to gauge some stats for memcached and would really appreciate it if you can let me know how many memcache servers/instances, cache size on each you use.
Thanks a bunch. What is your avg. object size in memcache (or avg. request size) ? Going by the old data on highscalability.com, I estimate about 1,400 bytes. Is that correct ?

Hi Shanti - at the moment, we’re doing about 100k requests/second across 28 memcached instances, on 14 servers. Two instances each at 1500MB.
